Summary: I was working on a five-and-one for Keferon's Spellbound AU and, uh, overestimated my ability to finish six whole fics before the plot progressed enough to make me need to scream about other things. But Keferon expressed interest anyway, so I offered a choice of things that were finished or finished-enough.

Keferon chose the smut.

So!

While wandering around the wilds of Cybertron, Blurr and Shockwave tumble into some puffball mushrooms whose spores have... interesting effects. They proceed to take ages to do anything about it, because when one of you has all the power in the relationship and the other has enough self-image issues to count as self-image volumes, a surprising amount of negotiation is required.

( The forest was beautiful, its colors vibrant, and the view from the trail down into the... gentle ravine or sharp valley, Blurr wasn't sure which to call it, was pretty spectacular. )

Summary: Almost from the very moment Blurr agreed to help the enslaved demon Shockwave end his existence (as his life had ended long ago), Blurr has been trying to get Shockwave to reconsider, gently, without making it an order the demon is bound and compelled to obey. (He also accidentally managed to fall in love with the demon he summoned. Whoops.)

They're out of time. Shockwave's first, worst master wants him back, and complete destruction seems like the only possible escape.

Blurr has one idea left to try, a twist to the spellwork necessary to destroy a demon that should, if Blurr is very, very lucky, succeed in nothing more and nothing less than the complete destruction of the demon Shockwave.

Shockwave is a demon twice Blurr's height, several more times his mass, and not, magically speaking, exactly alive. But after a fight that blinds Shockwave and lodges an arrowhead in the almost-vulnerable void of his face, Blurr insists on feeding Shockwave a small fortune in healing potions.

Shockwave feels some kind of way about it.

Author's Notes: This does not take place in any particular official Transformers continuity. It’s actually an attempt to bring Whirl Junior into a sort of... shared crossover roleplay-and-ficlet frappe Celaeno and I have been futzing around with since 2007. Celaeno insisted it was good enough to actually post, so hey, why not? It’s not IDW-- I have burgled characterization, as that is how we do Mashup, but events differ-- but any other continuity where you can picture these characters on a ship together is fair game.

Please note, our viewpoint character here is a sentient scraplet colony whose ability to handle sophisticated thoughts is in direct proportion with increases in mass. I had fun taking Whirl Junior from ‘ambush predator with minimal concept of self’ to ‘I accept these gendered pronouns,’ but I was deliberately trying for alien. I don’t know how much fun it would be for trans or nonbinary readers, so… If you need to brace yourself or bail out, this is your last heads-up, and if you have suggestions for clearer warnings, comment with them. I am always game to add more refined warnings.


Summary: Scraplet colonies under a certain mass mimic harmless things that a being made of delicious metal might feasibly pick up without thinking about it. Once contact is made, or perhaps once the intended prey has carried their touchable object off to a more private location, the colony will devour its prey, increase its mass, and get ready for the next meal.

That happens here-- but it’s not the only thing that happens.
